ABOUT FSUS
Florida State University Schools - commonly referred to as Florida High or abbreviated FSUS - is the top overall school district in state achievement, with top rankings in ELA, Math, Civics, and Science.
Band at FSUS is a co-curricular course that is open to all 6-12 students regardless of experience level, and seeks to teach music through performance in winds, percussion, and auxiliary (visual) arts.
Students in the FSUS Band program develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts and music, develop leadership and citizenship skills, support the school and local community through music, and learn about the roles and influences of music on society and vice versa.
Current ensembles: Jazz Band, Beginning Band, Garnet Band, Gold Band and High School Symphonic Band
Due to the nature of this course, students will perform in various concerts, assessments, and chamber events outside of the school day. Participation in the Marching Braves is required for students Grades 9-12. Middle School students may be eligible for participation in the Marching Braves based on a formal audition and interview process. Band students must be registered for a Band course during the school day. Students who audition and make the color guard may be exempt from this rule based on course offerings for the current year. (Not an extra-curricular club)
